The Chery Q EV400 in AutoTrader’s original walk-around takes a different approach from large, imposing electric vehicles: rounded lighting, a compact-looking body and a simple cabin presentation. The useful question for a buyer is not just whether the car looks appealing. It is whether the exact variant, charging arrangements and everyday controls suit the way that person will use it.

A simpler exterior, with useful storage to inspect
The exterior discussion starts around 00:38. The rounded front and rear lamps are visible in the video, while the presenter discusses wheel differences between Comfort and Premium. That distinction matters more than a single headline feature list: a photograph of one vehicle cannot establish the wheels or equipment included with a different order.
The luggage compartment is discussed around 00:54, and the open front compartment is also visible in the exterior walk-around. The narration describes storage at both ends. At a viewing, try the bags or equipment you normally carry and ask for a demonstration of the opening and closing mechanisms on the car you would receive. We have not independently measured storage capacity or tested loading practicality.
Do not turn a range claim into a guaranteed journey
From approximately 01:14 the presenter discusses the battery and electric motor. Around 01:33, the narration gives a range of up to 400 km and explicitly identifies it as a company claim. It is not a result established by driving the filmed car to an empty battery. Ask the seller which test cycle supports that figure.
For a buying decision, establish the exact battery and charging specification from the seller’s variant documents. Ask about your available charging connection, compatible equipment, warranty terms and the checks needed before installation. Match the car to a normal day’s route before relying on an advertised maximum. This review does not verify charging speed, electricity consumption or battery ageing.
Comfort and Premium are not interchangeable
The cabin section, beginning around 01:55, is particularly useful because the presenter repeatedly separates the demonstrated Comfort vehicle from Premium equipment. A central screen and a separate driver display are visible. The narration describes different display sizes, audio equipment and seat adjustment between the two variants, and says some convenience features belong to Premium rather than the filmed example.
That is a reason to ask for an itemised specification, not to combine every feature mentioned into one car. Sit in the version being offered, adjust the driver’s seat and use the screen and physical controls. At 03:00, the video shows both a central display and a separate strip of controls. Check whether frequent tasks are easy to reach without allowing an attractive screen to decide the purchase for you.
Assistance features need a demonstration, not an assumption
Around 03:03 the presenter places the discussed driver-assistance package on Premium, not Comfort. We have not independently tested those systems or established their limits. Ask which functions are actually present, how they warn the driver and what the handbook requires. Feature names should never be treated as permission to stop paying attention.
Availability and price need a fresh check
The closing section distinguishes the vehicle shown from a Premium version discussed for Pakistan. It also contains launch, import, booking and price statements. Those are recording-time statements. Ask for a fresh written price and confirm which version is available now.
The strongest takeaway is the importance of variant clarity: use the video to understand the layout, then verify the actual car’s equipment, charging support, warranty and dated quotation. The footage does not establish ride comfort over a long trip, braking, real-world range or long-term reliability. Compare the current model information with the seller’s written offer, and browse available cars without assuming every Q has the same specification.
