What to check before the deal
Avoid token and advance-payment fraud
Fraud often starts with urgency: 'pay token now or the car is gone'. Slow down and verify first.
- Treat very low prices, urgent token requests, and off-platform pressure as warning signs.
- Never share OTP, banking PIN, CNIC photo, or account password with a buyer or seller.
- If a seller asks for Easypaisa, JazzCash, or bank token before inspection, report the ad first.
Check ownership and documents
Pakistan has different registration and transfer practices by city, so document checks matter.
- Check original registration book or smart card, transfer letter where applicable, and token tax status.
- Compare chassis and engine numbers on the vehicle with the documents.
- Ask for service records, import documents, auction sheet, or repair invoices only when the seller claims they exist.
Inspect before final payment
Vehicle checking matters when the car is expensive, imported, repaired, or far from your city.
- Check body paint, engine smoke, transmission shift, AC, suspension, tyres, and warning lights.
- Use a trusted mechanic if you are unsure.
- If no clear report or workshop record is linked on an ad, complete your own checks before paying.
Finish transfer and payment safely
Most disputes happen when payment, possession, and transfer are not documented clearly.
- Write seller and buyer names, CNIC numbers, vehicle details, sale amount, date, and payment method on a sale receipt.
- Complete transfer steps as soon as possible after payment and delivery.
- Keep screenshots, receipts, and call/WhatsApp records until transfer is complete.
