Jetour T2 i-DM review: bold styling and plug-in hybrid claims
An original companion to AutoTrader’s Jetour T2 i-DM video, separating the visible design and cabin from quoted hybrid, range and charging claims.
The Jetour T2 i-DM brings a deliberately upright, squared-off look to the plug-in hybrid discussion. AutoTrader’s original video puts the vehicle’s exterior, cabin and advertised technology in front of the camera. This written companion separates what that walk-around shows from the performance claims a buyer still needs to verify.
Watch the original Jetour T2 i-DM review or explore the Jetour T2 i-DM model page. The review concerns the i-DM plug-in hybrid; do not transfer its specification to every T2 sold under the same model name.
A substantial look, without assuming off-road ability
The exterior section, beginning around 00:26, focuses on the front lighting, prominent wheel arches and spare wheel mounted at the rear. The video shows a substantial, angular body rather than a soft-edged crossover. The presenter also discusses 20-inch wheels and a panoramic roof. Those equipment statements concern the reviewed vehicle, not a guarantee about every locally offered example.
There is a useful distinction between that visual character and mechanical capability. In the powertrain section the presenter identifies front-wheel drive. A buyer should therefore establish the exact drivetrain from the vehicle’s documentation instead of treating its appearance, driving-mode names or spare-wheel position as proof of four-wheel drive.
What the hybrid figures do—and do not—tell you
From about 01:15 the narration describes a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine working with an electric motor and a dedicated hybrid transmission. The presenter also quotes combined power and torque figures. Those specifications do not substitute for a test drive, and this walk-around does not establish measured acceleration.
The next section discusses the battery and quotes up to 90 km of electric driving. At approximately 02:08, the presenter explicitly attributes a combined range of up to 1,100 km to the company. The charging section also describes AC and DC capability. A quoted charging time cannot establish what a particular buyer will achieve. Ask which test cycle, battery conditions and charging equipment underpin the figures, and compare them with the route and charging access you actually have.
Cabin technology should work for your own phone and passengers
The cabin footage shows a broad central display and a separate instrument display. Narration from about 02:28 discusses the centre screen, instrument cluster, wireless phone integration and front-seat convenience features. Rather than judging those features by screen size alone, use a viewing to pair your own phone, adjust the seat, find frequently used controls and check visibility from your normal driving position.
The luggage-area section also discusses vehicle-to-load power. If that feature matters, ask the seller to demonstrate the correct accessories and confirm the supplied vehicle’s limits. A visible socket or a feature mentioned in the video is not an electrical-load test.
Price context and a sensible next step
Around 03:28 the video discusses an ex-factory price at recording time. Treat that as historical context, not a current offer. Obtain a dated quotation identifying the exact variant, taxes, registration, warranty, delivery terms and included equipment before comparing it with other vehicles.
The video is a useful first look at the T2 i-DM’s distinctive shape and technology-led cabin. It does not establish long-term reliability, a measured real-world range, braking performance or charging consistency. Use those gaps to plan a focused test drive and seller demonstration rather than filling them with assumptions. Start with the model and variant information, then browse available cars and check each vehicle individually.
